Tate Modern Check-in

Frances Stark

IMG_6489On walking into the viewing area for Frances Stark’s animation, I was greeted with voices of children describing how ‘that wasn’t appropriate for us’ and the sounds of giggles coming from many directions. I was curios to see what this was about. The semi-naked animated characters, granted, were a little strange however this communicated to me some vital messages in reference to relationships an communication in the 21st century. The computer generated voices connote the deterioration of the world to a state where communication in any relationship is strongly connected to the internet. Relationships, in a sense, have become artificial.
